19 Crimes – The Uprising Red 2020
South Eastern Australia
The name of this wine comes from nineteen crimes that turned criminals into colonists.
The criminals were some men who were convicted of at least one of the 19 crimes.
They were sentenced to live in Australia instead of death.
This happened in 1788 and was called, ‘punishment by transportation’.
Many of them died at sea. However, for those who made it to shore, there was a new world awaiting them.
As pioneers in an unexplored colony, they created a new country and new lives, brick by brick.
This wine pay tribute to their history and culture and pays respect to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808.
As the government delayed the rum trade, citizens and soldiers got united to defeat them.
The Uprising Red 2020 is part aged for 30 days in Rum Barrels.
This wine has a warm brown sugar finish and dark jammy flavours.
