Vincent Collard and Christelle Rinvelle, who are Champagne Taittinger’s popular managers, manage the Taittinger’s vineyards with deep caution.
The year 2013 winter is known for its temperatures going below the ten-year average with times of snow and freezing.
Spring continued with cool temperatures with heavy rainfalls.
As flowering began in July, the bright and generally hot summer helped offset any delay the vines.
Harvest began on the first day of October for the Chardonnays with satisfying maturity that combined notes of white flowers and citrus which made it strong, structured and mature with outstanding length.
The Pinots Noirs is intricate with floral scents and white, yellow and red fruit.
The Taittinger Brut Vintage contains a blend of half Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir from the first press. To reveal its full potential, a 5-year long ageing time in the cellars is required.
